Duane O. Davison

A founding member of the firm, Duane serves as chair of the firm’s Municipal Law Practice. He served as municipal attorney for Freehold Township (31 years), Holmdel Township (20 years) and Millstone Townships (28 years) and has also served as counsel for a number of community associations.

Duane has been a lecturer on municipal law at the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and served on the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys. He is Associate Counsel to the New Jersey State League of Municipalities and has represented the League in public forums related to topics impacting local government. Duane has also served as Municipal Prosecutor for several towns in Monmouth County. He was a founding member of the Monmouth County Municipal Prosecutors Association and served as that organization’s President.

Duane was the recipient of the 2004 Michael Pane Award from the New Jersey State League of Municipalities—an honor given to a professional working with local government who has “exemplified the highest standards of ethics and whose work has significantly enhanced the integrity of local government.”

A firm believer in the importance of community service, Duane served two terms as a Church Elder and as Vice President of the congregation. He is also a member of the W. Goodwin Society of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Battleground Historical Society, the Freehold Township Heritage Society and Common Cause of New Jersey (Advisory Panel). He is the former Commissioner and Treasurer of Manalapan Township Fire District No. 2 and former member and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Centra State Medical Center.

Duane received his J.D. cum laude from Seton Hall University Law School in 1974 and his C.L.E. from Fordham University School of Law in 2000. He received his B.S. magna cum laude from Rider College in 1970.
